So on December 18th a group of us from Whedonites United and other Browncoat friends joined up and travelled to Cave City, KY to visit Dinosaur World for the "This Land" trip! What a blast! Anyway, for this trip we were going in costume (of course) which means I had to re-make my teddy bear coveralls pretty quickly! I was able to get them done over two nights, because I spread it out. I could have done it in one but meh, I was feeling lazy that week. Here are some pics of the finished coveralls!
Kaylee v2.0 - You can see here I used the sleeve again to make the breast pocket.
I ended up reusing the patches from the other set. Why not, right? :D
Also note I got the symbols right this time. w00t!
The teddy bear! Still smudgy and what not from the last pair!
The coveralls with my jacket and necklace.
This time around I took the shoulder epaulets off and serged the sleeve holes before I hemmed them. These are better than the first set I made IMHO, though I feel like I need to go roll around in the dirt and muck first. These are really dirty / old (They're from WWII!!!) but they need....more. :)
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and Yule! I know I did. Alright, so I *DID* get the Fantabulous Kenmore sewing machine I mentioned in an earlier post for Christmas! I'm so excited! I tried it out and WOW! It is so quiet! It's so much quieter than the Singer and also a good bit heavier. Yay for it not being cheap plastic! I'm seriously happy and cannot wait to start the next big sewing project.
For other cosplay, I snagged a great jacket! It's a red diesel jacket like the one Rose wears in "Rise of the Cybermen".
I can't wait for it to get here! :D
